BONSAI-IO Documentation#

BONSAI-IO, part of the “Getting the Data Right” project led by Aalborg University and funded by the KR Foundation, contains the workflow that generates the BONSAI hybrid input-output database. It features with Supply-Use tables (SUTs) and Input-Output tables (IOTs) in hybrid units. This means that tangible flows are accounted in tonnes, energy flows in TJ, vehicles in items and the residual services in millions of euros.

The main principles of BONSAI-IO:#

  • Transparency

  • Traceability of data

  • Open source

  • Easy to update

  • Facilitate the life of LCA practioners

  • Open to contribution from the community
